College assignments usually don’t come with a cathedral veil and a barn full of florals. Michael Al Bahou’s senior internship did — and A Tale of Destiny at Sweeney Barn in Manassas, Virginia, was born.
As a George Mason University Tourism & Events Management student, Michael’s internship with Tilly & Teal Weddings gave him the chance to plan, design and execute a full-scale styled shoot from start to finish. Soft, organic florals and clean stationery complemented the barn’s warm, rustic charm, while a sleek gown with a dramatic cathedral veil became the centerpiece of the editorial.
The real magic came when he saw it all come together. “Seeing every detail — the gown, the veil, the accessories — align perfectly in real life was my wow moment,” Michael recalls. What looked great on the mood board became even more stunning in person, captured beautifully by the photographer.
A Tale of Destiny wasn’t just an assignment — it was a moment of creation, collaboration and a little bit of magic coming to life, proving that sometimes the best surprises happen when vision meets reality.
